Lakes And River Installations |
Some lakes and rivers work excellent as natural stores for solar energy. Generally lake installations work in the same way as horizontal installations. Instead of being buried they are placed at the bottom of the lake using weights. As always there are some conditions that need to be assessed first. 1. The property should be near the lake / river 2. the installation must be in an area free from activities, i.e. fishing, anchoring et… 3. the water cannot be rapid flowing and must be deep enough not to freeze to the bottom 4. often licenses from relevant agencies must be obtained
To install a surface water installation the pipe work should be laid out in runs, then using weights sunk to the bottom of the lake, this may require a small boat. As with all installations the collector pipes are either run back through a manifold chamber to the heat pump. The collector will then be pressure tested, filled and leak tested. These installations are seen as the most problematic should any issues arise.

When designing a surface water installation you must consider the following. Heat pump size Temperature of water Flow of water Licences and permits required Weighting method and size Distance between collectors Lake bottom condition Shore transition from ground to lake Filling collectors Testing | Sintec take the design problems away for you, to mange a cost affect installation tailored to your needs.
